|Milvine Estate - The Story
Milvine Estate is located in central Heathcote, a short drive up the Redesdale/Kyneton Road; we are boutique wine producers who specialise in wine made from estate grown Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. We have a Cellar Door which is surrounded by vineyard and built of local fieldstone; the cellar door duplicates the family home and environment. The property reflects our individuality, which is seen in our wines.
The first vines were planted in 1994, and each year sees more vines being planted. The first vintage in 2003 was bottled in September 2004. This vintage was well received by the wine loving public, wine writers and judges. The 2003, which is now sold out, and subsequent vintages are exceptional wines, smooth and elegant whilst maintaining the absolute integrity of Heathcote Shiraz.
The grapes are monitored during the growing season to ensure that only quality grapes are left on the vines; surplus or lesser quality grapes are cropped whilst the grapes are still in their early growth stage. The grapes are picked at 1 to 1/2 tonne to the acre. This ensures maximum fruit quality.
The wines are 100% handcrafted, the grapes are virtually dry-grown, receiving minimal irrigation during the growing period; the main irrigation is at budburst and again at veraison where the vines receive a small amount of fertilizer to assist in maximizing the quality of the fruit. Biodynamic principles are used in the vineyard.

This is a reminder to our valued clients that we have made our final vintage and anticipate closing mid next year (2017 -when sold out of wine). And...our wine is selling fast...
...we were also advised that Huon Hooke, well known and respected wine Judge, has selected our final vintage "2014 Puddler's Gully Shiraz" to be listed in Gourmet Traveller Wine 100 magazine which will be available for purchase in October 2015. (A great bookend finale for us).
